ANYTHING WILL HELP is the sequel to MAKEOVERS and continues Carson Kirkpatrick's journey to change the world "one person at a time."
When the senior dorm at St. Regis College, in Tilton, New Hampshire burns down one summer, college administrators must find last-minute accommodations for the students who were slated to live there. By random assignment, five of those students are sent to a nearby boarding house which, unknown to college administrators, was recently converted to a senior citizen care facility and is occupied by five “real” seniors -- all aged 72 and beyond. MY SENIOR YEAR tells the story of how these ten radically different personalities learn to appreciate each other during the ensuing year. The plot is driven by the discovery that one of the ten is terminally ill -- and how the others are affected by this news.
WHY NOBODY LIKES YOU is a take-off on Dale Carnegie’s classic book, “How To Win Friends & Influence People,” which has been in print for almost 100 years. Tongue-in-cheek (and cheeky) advice for the rude, self-absorbed social misfits who make our lives so miserable.
Is it a bit gimmicky to use the word SEX in the name of a book? Probably. But I've used that same gimmick for much of my life to help people remember my name "It's Rex...rhymes with sex." And you know what, it works! This is my life story (so far -- I'm still very much alive) and I've tried to make it fun and funny (my life and the book).
The true, if somewhat far-fetched, story of what happened to two old guys who spent three months in France -- including a bicycle trip where cows, pigs and wild boars provided the obstacle course, where one of the guys (the one who doesn't speak a word of French) had to negotiate the market every day, and the day they happened upon thirty or so French people doing the Texas two-step in the street. Yee haw and bonjour!
